چکیده

Natural Language Generation Marcel O. Fr ohlich 1 and Reind P. van de Riet 2 Abstract. A framwork for Natural Language Generation (NLG) is described, that can be used with arbitrarily structured knowledge sources (for example a database). It is built around three layers of domain knowledge representation, supporting di erent tasks. The bene t of this approach is that a given representation can be used as input to NLG rather than a redundant representation that has to be maintained separately. Domain dependent components are clearly distinguished. Domain independent tools for natural language generation are integrated.

Background and Aim: Ontologies facilitate data integration, exchange, searching and querying. Open Biomedical Ontologies (OBO) Foundry is a solution for creating reference ontologies. In this foundry, the design of ontologies is based on established principles which allow for their interactions as a single system. The purpose of this study is to determine the main features of ontologies develop...

A Framework for Managing Multiple Ontologies: The Function-Oriented Perspective

Ontologies are now ubiquitous in Semantic Web and knowledge representation areas. Managing multiple ontologies is a challenging issue including comparing existing ontologies, reusing ontologies, maintaining different versions, and so on. However, most previous multiple ontologies management work focused on ontologies maintenance, evolutions, and versioning. They ignored the very important point...

Knowledge Discovery from Biomedical Ontologies in Cross Domains

In recent years, there is an increasing demand for sharing and integration of medical data in biomedical research. In order to improve a health care system, it is required to support the integration of data by facilitating semantic interoperability systems and practices. Semantic interoperability is difficult to achieve in these systems as the conceptual models underlying datasets are not fully...

Reconciling Inconsistencies Between Package-extended Ontology Modules

Construction of ontologies in specific domains (e.g., molecular biology, electronic commerce), is invariably a collaborative activity that requires incorporation of independently generated ontology fragments or ontology modules, and hence reconciliation of inconsistencies among ontology modules. We investigate an approch to reconciling the inconsistencies among ontologies using defeasible axiom...

Extracting Sub-ontology from Multiple Ontologies

Web ontologies are often too large to be used in a single application. The solution is to extract sub-ontology from large-scale ontology. An application may require several large-scale ontologies in different domains. Current approaches mainly focus on extraction in single ontology; it needs to integrate the ontologies and then extract sub-ontology from the integrated one. However, it is often ...

Materializing and Persisting Inferred and Uncertain Knowledge in RDF Datasets

As the semantic web grows in popularity and enters the mainstream of computer technology, RDF (Resource Description Framework) datasets are becoming larger and more complex. Advanced semantic web ontologies, especially in medicine and science, are developing. As more complex ontologies are developed, there is a growing need for efficient queries that handle inference. In areas such as research,...
